Master Sgt. Matthew Lewis assumed the first sergeant responsibilities at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research during a ceremony held on Aug. 1. He replaced 1st Sgt. Vincent Nunez who relinquished responsibility on June 3, during a Headquarters and Headquarters Company relinquishment of responsibility ceremony. HHC's first sergeant is responsible for working closely with the commander to ensure unit Soldiers are disciplined, motivated, trained, healthy and proficient to complete the mission.
